Polishing things up and undoing Disney Programming.

I have made some adjustments to characters and classes. I added the Anarchist and the Aristocrat (Not Aristocat like I kept typing over and over again)

I’ve polished up some descriptions and made the menus a little easier to navigate through. Take a look and checkout the fantastic artwork and basic descriptions of the classes.

Why not both?

So It’s been a while. Life is funny and fun sometimes but I am back with an update for all couple dozen of you Into the Nexus fans

Gen Con 2016 was great fun and we had a raucous good time at our gaming sessions.

Slave Ship and Darkmore both sold out  and we even had extras come in and ask to play. Large scale games that went on into the wee hours of the morning. The cortex games we smaller but still just as fun. Nice easy 4 hour games that I think ended quite well. Feedback was positive and some of the changes made to both types of games really worked well with this years players.

That being said I have made a decision. We will be releasing both a Cortex+ and a d20 version of the Into the Nexus. Both books are pretty much done except for editing and I think they offer strengths to different gaming styles. I hope to have copies of both ready for Gencon 2017.

I have made some serious changes to the web site. I have added all playable characters and races and I had added both gaming system character sheets. Both character sheets samples are now available  here

https://misdirectedawesome.wordpress.com/roleplaying-worlds/races/character-sheets/

So take a look at the new cast and crew of Into The Nexus. All illustrations have been done by Justin Graham and are fantastic. The Walker and Ayan are my personal favorites.

I know I’m not the best at the constant posts but I hope to get better at it in the next few months with more content to announce and hopefully more gaming sessions to talk about.

What are you waiting for? Go take a look.

New Site design and character pages

I have updated the site design and and gaming pages. There is new info in the About menu and the Into the Nexus menu is completely redesigned.

It has new info on the floating islands and some of the characters that come from them. Not all the artwork is complete. My artist requires time and as it turns out cash to get them all done. You can check out the Heralds, the Ayans, The Q’Anics and the Walker right now.

Speaking of that you should really check out The Clownmonkey and see his amazing art and maybe even buy some.

I will be updating the characters as their artwork gets done and I will also be adding some stories to give a background to the world of Hybris.

That is it for now but stay tunes I will be posting a new story in a couple of days

Magicka – Reality is what you make it.

The Magicka are the most respected and feared group of people on Hybris. They control the world around them by tapping into the power of the possibilities.
These masters of the alternate realities follow one of the four elemental disciplines; Earth (Terra), Fire (Sol), Air (Vadra), Water (Vatten). Each Magicka’s mentality is vastly different depending on their discipline.

Vatten Magicka: Usually are pacifists, specializing in healing and life restoration. These are the most revered but also the most feared of the Magicka. For they can’t create life, they can only move it.

Vadra Magicka: Masters of the mind. They are most often the advisers to power. They practice their art with the manipulation of the people and what people need. You see what they want you to see.

Terra Magicka: Are one with the land and beast. Unable to see the Wave without physical connection these magicka are the toughest and most virile of the magicka. Usually employed as trainers and tamers of dragons, they have an almost symbiotic relationship with the natural world and the creatures it contains.

Sol Magicka:. Blinded by the power of raw evocation, these Magicka are the most reviled. They have no thought of the consequences of their Magick and the chaos it can cause.  They are impatient to the subtle requirements of the other disciplines. They are masters of destruction and are highly aware of it.

Majicka Description

Character Class- Ayans – The Correctors

Ayans. (The Correctors)

An isolated group of elven magicka, the Ayans can also tap into the alternate possibilities. These magicka however use their abilities to “correct” what others have made “wrong”. They seek out magickas from all the races and undo their work. It makes little difference to the Ayans if the magic yielded positive or negative results. This makes them very powerful in some regards and downright annoying in others.

Character Class – Island Walker

The Island walkers, or Walkers (the capital letter makes them more mysterious).

There are those that need social interaction to thrive in society. Then there are the Walkers who just wants you to go away. These lone individuals live mostly on the outer islands, deep inside Raiu.  Never at home in the cities or villages of the “civilized”, the Walker makes their home in the wild. They are masters of using what is at hand and what they find.  Due to their almost feral nature, wild beasts either ignore them or in some cases help them.

They are the very embodiment of “How nature says, ‘Do Not Touch'”
Walker-Description

Just got to see some of the new artwork. I am so excited to incorporate them into the new book. I’ll post some glimpses before the Gen Con unveiling.

Everything changes – New Characters/ Classes

I’ve had to make some class changes. After over 15 years of making this game I realized that almost all of it was my creation and just a small portion was from the original Death Gate material. I have after some painful soul searching decided to remove the Death Gate references and make it all my own.  I love the world of Death Gate but it isn’t mine and it seems Into the Nexus will never see the light of day if I keep it in there.

So

The two new Characters are

The Heralds.

They are a religious sect that believe we only are truly equal in death. They strive to help all other make that transition as smoothly as possible. Willing or no.

The Ayans.

Named after my close friend Aya who at every game seemed to undo every spell the Magica’s cast. Whether it helped the group or not (Mostly not).

The group is also looking for balance. They do this by correcting the wave. Undoing any attempts to manipulate it.

They put right what once went wrong. Wrong is subjective.

These two classes will replace the Death Gate specific ones that I had originally used.

I will also start posting some short stories based in this new world. This is to let players get a feel for the environment and hopefully come to enjoy what has been a true labor of love for me for the last decade.

Take a look at the website and see the new changes.
